LESSON #7 of 7:

"How These Copy Legends Construct Offers Today"

It's mid-afternoon now...

About 2:30PM.

We still have about a half dozen copywriting areas and topics I want to have the copy legends cover.

So, I know we need to get down to business and be as efficient as possible.  

Responses are about to start coming at rapid pace for the next couple hours. 

Before we dive-in to offer creation, the topic of breakthroughs with sales page design and formatting comes up.

We bang this out over the next 35 minutes or so, with some wildly insightful tactics and new techniques shared.  Especially from Donnie French. Including some new (contrarian) upsell copy angles well outperforming "best practices" most marketers use.

Killer stuff! 

Then, we get to how the copy legends are engineering winning offers today.

If you don't know Justin, he's a bonafide direct response marketing beast. His copy has not only generated hundreds of millions in sales, he's used his copy chops to build four multi-million dollar businesses. Exiting two of those businesses for multi-million-dollar pay days. 

Not too mention, Justin's email copy chops built him one of the most engaged email lists in all of online marketing today. He now works an hour or two a day, and still continues to enjoy the fruits of a nice seven-figure high-profit business.

"For me, over the past year, the focus has really been identifying the offers that hit the sweet spot of my list," Justin said. 

"And, really being data driven here. Looking at which offers and angles worked best to my list, then looking for what I can promote with the same angle and offer but a different Mechanism."

Justin then went on to share examples of how he does this.

Note: Justin has done a masterful job of identifying a specific campaign model, format, and offer structure which works well with his list. 

He then uses the data to identify the hooks and ideas which most resonate with his list (i.e. generate the most sales). Then, uses those same hooks and ideas with a new Mechanism, and plugs them into his proven model, format, and offer structure.  

So, it's rinse and repeat. And these little few-day email promotions do between $30,000 and $90,000 for Justin. (Not so little.)

Kim Schwalm quickly jumped in to pose a question to the group...

"How do you guys feel about the use of highly discounted offers on the front-end for customer acquisition?" Kim asked. 

Justin again jumped in... 

"How you get them on the list is how they're going to behave on the list," Justin responded. "The discount buyers never stop being discount buyers. So, I think it's a mistake to discount on the front-end. You don't need to do it."

This kicked-off a deep discussion about front-end pricing and positioning... with several copy legends posing even more questions to the group.

As the discussion continued for the next 40 minute or so-- the responses were flowing -- and we dove even deeper into some of the nitty-gritty steps of how the copy legends construct their offers and their offer presentations.

The rest of the day was intense.


In our remaining time together -- about 90 minutes or so -- we dove deep into several additional copy categories, including what the copy legends are doing today with ad copy, short-form copy, email copy, and more. 

It was eye-opening, to say the least, to see the different approach in these areas the copy legends are now using. 

So, so valuable. 

At about 5:40 PM we wrapped.

I felt I got everything possible (in one day) out of these copy legends. Truly. 

Not too mention, everybody was spent from sharing for almost 8 hours. 

As everyone was getting up from the table, a couple of the legends requested we take a group picture to capture this historic gathering and experience. 

I thought it was a fantastic idea...
